Biography:
2007: Carney appeared in all 12 games, starting nine at safety. He was fifth on the team in tackles with 64 total. He recorded three or more tackles in 10 games, tied for eighth in the Big 12 and was 60th nationally with four interceptions. Three of his four interceptions came within a two-game span.

He collected 13 tackles at Nebraska and Fresno State, picked off his fourth pass of the season against Baylor, made a career-best seven stops at Oklahoma State, had one pick against Colorado, recorded the first two interceptions of his career against Kansas, recorded five tackles against Texas and had two of his 3.5 tackles for loss against San Jose State.
