As a junior, in 12 games, Smith recorded 100 tackles, nine for loss, two sacks, three fumble recoveries, and returned one interception for a touchdown. His father, Chris, played fullback at Notre Dame and for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Smith reports a 3.2 core GPA and a 19 ACT.
