K-State Postgame Quotes

Following an Exciting Game at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas State Head Coach Bill Snyder and a select Wildcat Players discuss the Victory.

Kansas State Head Coach Bill Snyder On Grant Gregory...

"He made some plays, he made some things happen, and also got us hurt a time or two. He's done some good things and gotten himself better over the course of last week."

On the end of game...

"It was almost as though when they (ISU) threw that touchdown pass, it was meant to be. And when we turned around and blocked that extra point, I can't remember the last time we did that, maybe it was meant to be that way too."

On the defense...

"The numbers were down and didn't show up as you would like, but I thought they (defense) did what they had to do when they had to do it. We played soft, but they (ISU) have got a couple guys that can run the ball. I didn't realize Arnaud was such a big, physical guy. He can run the ball well. We need to become a little more physical up front."

Quarterback Grant Gregory

On the touchdown pass...

"I guess I almost got sacked they said. I avoided the guy and when I scramble I'm looking to pass because it's hard to cover a guy that long."

On his preparations...

"We have been practicing pretty well overall. We just go out there everyday. Wednesday and Thursday practices I started taking number one reps, but I said I'll believe it when I get on the field."

On the finish...

"That's one of the best finishes I've been a part of, just the emotions of the game. You're thinking 'let's get ready for overtime', but then you start thinking about maybe we can block this kick, we got pretty close last time."

On thoughts after the scramble touchdown...

"A little bit of validation after six years worth of work. When that clock struck zero and I could finally help the team get a win. My career so far has been a failure. I've got a seven game season."

Wide receiver Brandon Banks

On what this game means...

"It says that we never give up. Hopefully we can build from that the next few weeks."

On the game...

"Hats off to Iowa State. They played a hard game. There are things we need to correct. We made mistakes that we can learn from and correct. We just need to keep working. The hard work will pay off. Any time you win it is great, but we can't get too excited. We need to work on some things and get better, We need to concentrate on the next game."

Linebacker John Houlik

On the game...

"It's awesome anytime you get a victory. Our defense didn't come through, but getting that blocked kick. It was fun. We knew it was going be 60 minutes. ISU is a much improved team and we were in a dog fight from the very beginning."

On being a statement game...

"We came out real strong and got some three-and-outs and our offense pushed the ball. People will realize we are not going to give in. We are going to fight all 60 minutes."

On the win...

"I am extremely proud. It was an awesome victory. It was an amazing atmosphere at Arrowhead and we kept pushing through adversity and came through with a win. Iowa State has a really good team and a much improved team from last year."
