Following the Win over Tennessee Tech this past weekend, Head Coach Bill Snyder and select Wildcat players took media questions at the weekly press conference.

Head Coach Bill Snyder On playing in Arrowhead Stadium...

"I think that it is an enjoyable stadium to be in. I have been to a number of Chiefs games and we have played there several times. It's a big, spacious stadium. The locker rooms are very accommodating; it's a fine place to play."

On the importance of special teams...

"Every single player on our team is available to play on special teams. I've never had the mentality that a player is too good on offense or defense to play on special teams. We want our players to have the feeling that they have an opportunity to change the game on special teams. Also, we want our players to feel like what happens on special teams is just as important as what happens on offense or defense. It is a team effort; all 11 players have to do their job correctly in order for us to be successful."

"Brandon (Banks) did a nice job on returning kicks against Tennessee Tech. But if you go back and look at his two returns, it really was a team effort. Everybody did their job correctly and I was very appreciative of that. I thought that the players on the kickoff team created, amongst themselves, more spirit and enthusiasm than I have seen on the football team all year. They understood that it was not just Brandon, but the fact that they played a big part in the two scores that came on kick returns."

On playing against Iowa State's secondary ...

"I think that their secondary has been playing lights out. You love to have guys that play as hard as those guys do. They may only have one returning starter but the less-experienced players have been on the field this year."

On playing a game in Kansas City...

"Over my time here at Kansas State, I have had a marvelous relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs. Lamar Hunt was a good friend. I appreciated him so much and I still appreciate his family very much. That whole organization has been fantastic over the years. I know that they have wanted to host college games at Arrowhead and we have accommodated them in that regard."

On leading the nation in time of possession and the impact that it has on the defense...

"It does help out our defense. But possessing the ball is only half the equation; we need to take advantage of it and put some points on the board. If we can get our defense off the field, for the right reasons, then it is very beneficial."

On facing Iowa State's talented backfield...

"They have two very talented players in (QB) Austen Arnaud and (RB) Alexander Robinson. They are both major threats. Robinson is a player who runs hard; he has good quickness and change of direction. Arnaud is also a good runner. He makes very good decisions, not just in the run game but also when he drops back to throw the ball. They will both put great stress on some areas of our defense."

On the improvement of the team...

"We are a better team than what we were at the start of the season. It has been slow progress but it has been steady. Our effort has continued to improve which is very important to me. I think that we are starting to make fewer and fewer mistakes, but we still have a lot of things that we can improve on.''

Senior Running Back Keithen Valentine On getting to the postseason...

"We know that we have to win at least seven games to be bowl-eligible, but we are trying to win every game that we play. We have not been talking about the postseason, we have been talking about taking it one game at a time, but it is in the back of everybody's mind that we have to win so many games to be bowl-eligible."

On playing at Arrowhead Stadium...

"I think it is going to be an honor to play on an NFL field, a lot of great players have played there, so I think that it will be fun."

Junior Offensive Lineman Wade Weibert On switching between positions...

"There is more responsibility with the center position, but I feel very comfortable with it. I thought that when I was switched back to guard during camp this year, that transition was a little more rough."

On previous experience at the center position...

"Back at Butler (C.C) I was our emergency center. I was moved there during my freshman year and going into fall camp, kind of what happened this year, I was moved around a little bit."

Junior Quarterback Carson Coffman On going to Arrowhead...

"We are really excited and it is our Big 12 opener. We feel pretty confident after this last win and we are feeling pretty good about ourselves."

On Iowa State's defense...

"We have watched quite a bit of film on them. They run some of the same defense's that we have seen the last two weeks. Also their defensive coordinator use to go against Grant Gregory when he was at South Florida, so he (Gregory) knows a lot about their defensive coordinator."

Senior Defensive Lineman Jeffrey Fitzgerald On first career Big 12 game...

"I am excited to get into conference play, but it is all football so you really have to focus on all of your keys and all of your fundamentals to get prepared for the game."

On Big 12's reputation...

"Coming from the east coast you do not see the high power offense's that you have here. So we have to get our heads ready to play against a high level of competition."
