The women's team had seven Wildcats named to the first team with at
least a 3.20 GPA. Seniors Emily Dittemore and Loren Groves helped lead
the group with Chelsie Bonds, Meriel Harwood, Stephanie Hejde and
Kristel Williams also making the grade.
Three of the women for K-State received first team honors for the second
time. Dittemore and Hejde repeated as first team all-academic while
Loren Groves garnered her fourth honor on the first team. This was
Dittemore's third overall honor making the second once before.
A total of six men were named to the first team for K-State. Moritz
Cleve, Jason Collett, Adam Fretwell, Danny Schneider, Scott Sellers and
Cameron Traxson joined the prestigious group of student-athletes. This
was third first team accolade for Collett, Fretwell, Schneider and
Sellers.
Three women also represented K-State on the second team. Second team
members have a GPA ranging from 3.00 to 3.19. Denise Baker, Amanda Boor
and Nancy Harrington each joined their 13 teammates on the list.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either
cumulative or the two previous semesters and much have participated in
60 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers
are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior
student-athletes who have participated in a minimum of two years and
meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also
eligible.
The Wildcats are in Lubbock preparing for the Big 12 Outdoor Track and
Field Championships to be held on the campus of Texas Tech this Friday
