Kansas State University announced its 2009 football schedule today, which will have the Wildcats traveling for four of its first six games.
In the first 17 seasons of Bill Snyder-coached football at Kansas State, not once did the Wildcats play two non-conference games outside of KSU Stadium in the same season.
Now in his return to the Wildcat sideline for the 2009 season, Snyder has inherited a schedule that will send him to Louisiana-Lafayette on Sept. 12 and to UCLA on Sept. 19.
The other non-conference games will include Massachusetts on Sept. 5 and Tennessee Tech on Sept. 26.
During Snyder's 17 seasons, K-State played 51 home non-conference regular-season games, 10 on the road, and two in Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium. The Wildcats were 54-7 in those games.
The Wildcats will also travel to a neutral site for its first Big 12 game scheduled against Iowa State in Arrowhead Stadium on Oct. 3, and will hit the road again on Oct. 10 for a date with the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
K-State will play home games against Texas A&M (Oct. 17), Colorado (Oct. 24), Kansas (Nov. 7) and Missouri (Nov. 14), and will also travel to Oklahoma (Oct. 31) and Nebraska (Nov. 21).
