Junior Forward Abdul Herrera has decided to leave the Kansas State Basketball Team.

Junior forward Abdul Herrera has opted to leave the Kansas State men’s basketball program, Head Coach Frank Martin announced Tuesday.

“Abdul has decided to leave our program,” Martin said. “We are certainly disappointed with his decision, but we wish him all the best in his future plans.”

Herrera saw action in four games for the Wildcats this season, averaging 1.3 points on 50.0 percent shooting with 1.3 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 4.5 minutes per game.

Herrera signed with K-State in May after playing one season at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College in 2007-08. He also spent time at Cincinnati in 2005-06 and USC-Aiken in 2006-07.
