With the win, the Wildcats have now won eight straight road contests dating back to last season and surpassed the 1968-69 squad for the best start in school history with the win.
Lehning pitched in 19 points, which propelled her past the 1,000-point mark for her career, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists for her fourth career triple-double. Marlies Gipson added 17 points and collected six blocks, while Sweat grabbed seven rebounds to go along with her 22 points, giving her 52 in her last two games.
The Wildcats held Washington scoreless for the first 3:34 of the contest and led by as many as eight points before the Huskies went on a 7-2 run to close within 31-28 at the half.
Kansas State scored the first six points of the second half to take a 37-28 lead. Washington then ran off seven in a row to draw within two at 37-35 with 14:23 left.
But Sweat got to work during a run that pushed the Wildcats' lead back to eight. Lehning's driving lay-in with just over 7 minutes left put Kansas State up 56-46.
The Huskies (4-6) got as close as six on back-to-back 3-pointers by Michelle Augustavo, but the Wildcats scored the game's final seven points to seal it.
The Wildcats shot 46.3 percent for the game, while the Huskies hit just 36.4 percent.
Kansas State returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Central Arkansas at 6 p.m. in game two of a Wildcat Weekend double-header with the men’s team.
