Wichita Northwest QB/WR prospect Chris Harper is a 6-foot-2, 230-pound specimen. And he's got almost 20 scholarship offers to back that up. Having said that, where do the Wildcats stand exactly in the race to ink Harper's John Hancock? They're in his top five. But are they in the front, middle or back of the pack? Wildcat Nation Members Only has your back...

Let's review the report we just recently did on Wichita (KS) Northwest phenom Chris Harper, who checks in at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds. The Midwest QB/WR prospect gave us a Fab Five to mull over when he said, "I'd have to say the five schools I'm feelin' the most right now are Kansas State , Missouri , Notre Dame, Michigan and Illinois ."

Not stopping there, we meet the coaches tasked with the duties of scoring a commitment from Harper, and the Wildcats have hot-shot recruiter/offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach James Franklin on it. Make no mistake dude is on top of it and then some... "I've been talking to K-State for over a year-and-a-half," Harper told KStateFans.com. "They were to the first to offer. And that does count."

How much? Well, with Harper, it gives the Wildcats a little bit more of an advantage he revealed. But far more significant and advantageous to K-State's pursuit and success of inking Harper is having Coach Franklin. Kid told us out of all of the coaches he's mingling with no one is spitting it better than Coach Franklin. And folks, make no mistake about it, recruiting is about building a relationship.

Bottom Line is I got K-State leading on this one. And when you can recruit the big boys out of your own back yard then you're one of the big boys too. I'm already tired of hearing and reading comments like, "Here come the big schools after one of our homegrown talents." K-State is Big-Time, son….They won the Big 12 championship a few years ago, spoiled Texas' national championship aspirations last year, have a bad-ass at QB and a bad ass coaching staff. Ron Prince/James Franklin and Co. know what they got in Manhattan , and so do the high school coaches, kids and parents in the Midwest . Don't believe me? Ask Harper...
