Out of State DE Enjoyed Visit to Manhattan

They say that recruiting is the lifeblood of a program and Coach Prince and Co. have the Cats turning heads. Jack DiNardo takes in the Wildcat Victory over Texas on his visit to Manhattan. This is not the first time Jack has been to K-State .... Read more about what Jack had to say about his favorites and his plans.....

Defensive end Jack DiNardo is one of K-State's top prospects at his position and the Hinsdale, Ill. prospect was impressed with the ‘Cats this weekend. "I've heard and read a lot about the game," said DiNardo, a 6-4, 240-pound end from Illinois. "I wish I could have been there. That was definitely huge for their program. To beat a team like Texas, with all that talent, says a lot about the direction their program is heading."

Hinsdale Central lost in the second round of the state playoffs ending DiNardo's high school career. As a senior he totaled 88 tackles, 12 sacks and 11 more tackles for loss. He also caught three passes, including a touchdown as a tight end.

DiNardo has good quickness and his motor never stops running. He has been known to track down ball carriers with regularity and spent much of his high school playing days in opposing backfields.

Several schools have offered DiNardo.

"Northwestern, Kansas State, Toledo, Akron, Ball State and Air Force have offered but I don't feel like I'm ready to make a decision or name a favorite," he said. "Northwestern is probably recruiting me the hardest right now but I'm hearing from all of them pretty regularly."

K-State special teams coach Tim Tibesar has been responsible for recruiting DiNardo and has built a good relationship over a long period of time. He has done a good job of conveying the positive qualities of the school and the football program.

"I took an unofficial visit to K-State over the summer and that was a great experience," he said. "I had a chance to see the facilities. I remember being impressed at the time, even though they were still doing a lot of work. They seem to have things moving in the right direction."

DiNardo has scheduled an official visit to Northwestern for the first weekend in December. He is not sure if he will take all five of his allotted visits.
