More
Robert Hughes, a 5-foot-11, 227-pound, running back from Hubbard high in Chicago has been offered a scholarship by Oklahoma State and now Hughes received his second offer from the Big XII Conference. Hughes will be a four-year starter at running back for the Greyhounds. He rushed for 1,920 and 19 touchdowns.
“I got an offer from
Kansas State
,”
Robert Hughes
told Scout.com in a recent text message.
Kansas State joins
Oklahoma State
,
Michigan
,
Virginia
,
Purdue
and
Illinois
as schools that have offered Hughes a scholarship before the May Evaluation period.
“I’ve known Coach Prince from when he was at Virginia so there’s a connection there.” Hughes said. “I’m still in the learning process with Kansas State. I know they play in a very good conference and they have had some successful running backs in the past.
“I’ve also gotten to know the running backs coach (Tim Horton) at Kansas State real well. He seems like a good guy. Coach Horton is easy to talk with and I’m comfortable with him.”
Hughes told Scout.com that his favorites are still
Ohio State
, Michigan,
Notre Dame
, Illinois, Purdue,
Miami
, Virginia and
Iowa
.
Oklahoma
State and Kansas State didn’t make the cut but both schools could make the grade after the May Evaluation period.
“I think I’ll have a better idea on who my favorites truly are after the May Evaluation period.” Hughes said.
“Of course I like all the schools that have offered me a scholarship. I’m going to look at those schools hard but I’d still like to get offers from
Ohio
State, Miami and few other schools during the May Evaluation process.
“I’m going to visit Oklahoma here real soon to check out the school and visit with my ex-teammate
Chris Patterson
who is a linebacker down there.”
Hughes will participate in the Scout.com All-American Combine on April 22nd in Iowa City.
