Sure, WVU won a game. But coach Bob Huggins still wasn't pleased with the effort of his players, as he said the game of basketball "isn't the most important thing" to some of them.

Guard Eron Harris said the mindset of the West Virginia team was "angry" after last weekend's embarrassing loss to Purdue, and that translated to better performances in practice. His consistent scoring has been a strength for the team, but he has also learned to embrace Huggins' defense-first philosophy.

Senior Deniz Kilicli discussed his mindset during his recent slump, which has seen him play limited minutes. He was optimistic that Wednesday night's performance against the Horned Frogs might be a sign of better things to come, but stopped short of any bold proclamations -- lest he be proven wrong again, he said.
