LUBBOCK, TX - Freshman
guard Josh Gray and sophomore guard Trency Jackson were the only Red Raiders to
reach double-digits in scoring on Monday in Texas Tech’s 70-56 victory against
Florida A&M to wrap up non-conference play.
Both Gray and Jackson scored 10 apiece while the rest of the
scoring for the Red Raiders (7-4) was balanced out evenly throughout the rest
of the roster.
Four other Tech players scored eight or more points, with
sophomore Jordan Tolbert missing a double-double, which would have been his
first of the season and second of his career, by just one point scoring nine
points while crashing the boards for a team-high 10 rebounds.
Tolbert has now scored in 42 consecutive games in a Red Raider
uniform.
For the Rattlers (4-9), the scoring was led by Jamie Adams,
22 points on 8-for-20 shooting, marking the eighth game this season the senior
guard has led the team in scoring.
Behind Adams, was Reggie Lewis with 10 points on a 4-for-14
shooting day.
The Rattlers now get ready for Florida International on
Wednesday, while the Red Raiders have almost a full week to get ready for their
Big 12 Conference opener against newcomer TCU on Saturday.
Tech and TCU are set for a 5 p.m. first tip in Fort Worth
and the game can be seen on Fox Sports Southwest.
