2013 Big 12 Football Slate Announced

The 2012 season is not yet over, but West Virginia's 2013 football schedule is out.

In a welcome departure from the scheduling practices of the Big East, the Big 12 has already lined up and released the 2013 football slate.

West Virginia plays five road and four home Big 12 games. In non-conference action, the Mountaineers will host William & Mary and Georgia State, and face Maryland in Baltimore.

WVU doesn't face quite the string of tough consecutive games it did in 2102, but that's counterbalanced by the fact that the Mountaineers will travel to Oklahoma in the second week of the season to take on the Sooners. That's the earliest Big 12 game of the season, taking place on Sept. 7.

WVU also has two off weeks. It will be idle on Oct. 12 and Nov. 23. The Iowa State game could also be moved to Nov 29 for television purposes, just as it was this year. That would be the only non-Saturday game for WVU in 2013.

Dates are subject to change as adjustments are expected to accommodate television partners' requests. Television selections for the first three weeks of the season and special dates are due to the Conference by July 1, 2013.

The schedule:

Aug 31 William & Mary
Sept 7 at Oklahoma
Sept 14 Georgia State
Sept 21 vs. Maryland
Sept. 28 Oklahoma State
Oct. 5 at Baylor
Oct. 19 Texas Tech
Oct 26 at Kansas State
Nov 2 at TCU
Nov 9 Texas
Nov 16 at Kansas
Nov 30 Iowa State
