Bryce Brown Earns Preseason All-Big 12 Honors

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State sophomore running back Bryce Brown was named to the 2011 Preseason All-Big 12 team after a vote of various media members who cover the league, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Brown is the second-straight Wildcat running back to be named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team, as Daniel Thomas was honored prior to the 2010 season.

A native of Wichita, Kan., Brown sat out the 2010 season after transferring from Tennessee. In 12 games for the Volunteers in 2009, Brown rushed 101 times for 460 yards and three touchdowns.

Brown was regarded as one of the top prep players coming out of high school in 2009. As a prep at Wichita East, the running back earned All-America honors from USA Today and Parade Magazine.

In the Purple-White Spring Game this past April, Brown tallied 73 yards on 13 carries with two touchdowns, and he also caught one pass for eight yards.

Kansas State will participate in the annual Big 12 Football Media Days, July 26, in Dallas, Texas. Representing the Wildcats at the event will be head coach Bill Snyder and team captains Collin Klein, Arthur Brown and Tysyn Hartman.

K-State, coming off a berth in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl, opens the 2011 season on September 3 with the third-annual K-State Family Reunion against Eastern Kentucky. A special pack of tickets is available for $75 (less than $20 per ticket), while reserved view level and north end zone tickets are just $20. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 6:10 p.m.

To order tickets to the season-opener, or any of the other six home games, contact the K-State Athletics Ticket office inside Bramlage Coliseum by phone at 1-800-221-CATS or online at www.k-statesports.com/tickets.
